Why Delegation Feels So Hard
One thing I’ve learnt over the years?
The people who need support the most are often the people who struggle most to delegate. Not because they want control but because they care deeply about quality. Their business is personal to them and they’ve worked incredibly hard to build it. Handing things over can feel uncomfortable at first, especially for founders and consultants who are used to doing everything themselves.
I completely understand that mindset. Trust isn’t built overnight and the strongest working relationships usually start gradually.
A diary.
An inbox.
Travel.
Client coordination.
Small things at first.
Then eventually something shifts because the business owner realises they can finally stop carrying every moving part alone and that’s often where the biggest transformation happens.
Not just operationally. Mentally. Emotionally.
Good support should make you feel lighter — not more managed. Delegation isn’t losing control. It’s creating space to lead properly again.
